The king's son

The King's Son

I would like to tell you a story:

"Once upon a time there was a vast kingdom, so large that the subjects never reached the limits of the kingdom. The king was wise, generous and just. People lived in peace, they were happy and had everything they needed.

One day, the king had a son. The king loved him so much that, a year after he was born, he publicly declared: "My son, my kingdom and everything I own is yours." The people were very happy to learn of such wonderful demonstration of love.

Far away, a malevolent witch learned about this news and full of envy, decided to take revenge. At midnight he conjured a wicked spell to make the king's son forget completely who he was.

The witch's assistant -a rather clever raven- told her, "It's a good spell, but it's not going to be of much use if only the boy forgets who he is. Everyone must forget who they are, for this to work. "

"Ah!" Said the witch, "you're right, ugly raven!" Then, she created a spell so powerful that it covered all the people of the kingdom.

The next day, the king had forgotten that he was king, the people did not know that they were part of a vast kingdom and evidently, there was no one to teach the king's little son that he was the master and sovereign of the region.

The king died shortly after a sadness and melancholy that no one could explain. The king's son grew up in poverty and had to endure many difficulties. People fought constantly and there was not enough to eat. It was a sad time but people would say, "That's life! It has always been like this."

The king's son -now a young man- felt that something was missing, that something was not right. So one fine day, he decided to quit his job as a street sweeper and started looking for someone to help him find "that" which he was looking for.

He walked and walked, crossing rivers, mountains and valleys, large cities and small villages. After a long time, he found an old man, sitting outside his humble cabin.

The king's son told him, "Good man, I do not know if you can help me, but I feel that something is not right in my life. I do not know what it is, but I know there is something missing."

The old man opened his tired eyes and said, "Oh, you finally arrived! I've been waiting for you for a long time. Take a seat son, you'll need it."

Perplexed, the young man sat down. The old man said, "You are the king. Everything you see around you belongs to you."

"But how?" Said the young man, "I'm just a street sweeper! I grew up in a hut and despite working long hours, I barely have enough to survive."

"Yes, I know," said the old man. "A witch conjured a spell that made everyone forget who they are. Even your father the king forgot who he was. I was lucky and escaped the spell. But now you know: you are the monarch and lord of everything. Everything you see is yours."

The young man was incredulous and could not believe what the old man told him. It took a while but finally, the king's son realized who he really was. He was overjoyed!

Jubilant, the king's son began to sing and dance with joy. "No more hardships! My life of suffering, of poverty is over. I'm immensely rich!"

He thanked the old man profusely for having shown him the truth of his being. He was about to leave, when he said, "What about the others? They are still under the spell. It would be wonderful if everyone could wake up and live in tranquility, abundance and joy."

"Oh, yes," said the old man. "I tried to tell them, but they are not interested. They are so absorbed in their own concerns and activities. Only those who are ready to wake up from the spell can hear me."

The young man once again thanked the old man and lived the rest of his happy life in peace."

And now I tell you:

Dear son/daughter of the king,

You have lived for many years under a spell, which has caused you countless suffering and unhappiness. I want to help you wake up. The question is: are you ready?
